Vacancies

Job purpose and dimensions:
The jobholder will be part of the growing siRNA therapeutics team. He or she will lead a research group dedicated to siRNA targeted deliveryby providing scientific direction, instruction and guidance to expedite research projects and to achieve important project milestones. This is an outstanding opportunity to be a founding member and scientific leader of an early-stage, well funded, start-up company.

Principal accountabilities:
• Lead an siRNA targeted delivery group and to provide scientific guidance (1 technician and 1-2 scientist)
• Lead and/or support internal research activities by managing and supervising assigned projects
• Ensures effective characterization and profiling of siRNA tools, leads and potential clinical candidates
• Accountable for high quality state of the art in-vivo deliverymethods and siRNA formulations
• Establish new in-vitro assays based on project needs
• Interface with external scientists on scientific projects that are collaboration- or contract-based
• Provide regular updates in internal meetings and feed into external and internal presentations and reports. Contribute to patents, publications and technical reports used in regulatory filings
• Guide and train technical staff, support personal development
• Support strategy discussions if needed and the implementation thereof
• Assist in identification of future drug/product candidates
• Prepare progress/project updates as project leader or jointly with project heads and present them internally

Qualifications:
The applicants should have a PhD degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or other related field and 3-5 years experience of applicable experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. .

Principal accountabilities:
• Supportlab-based research to support non-clinical drug discovery across a wide variety of disease indications as part of the therapeutic siRNA unit
• Expected to function independently, managing mechanistic pharmacology research projects
• Expected to participate in team based in-vitro/in-vivo testing of the pharmacodynamic effects of potential drug candidates in support of novel drug discovery
• Expected to support the implemention, optimization, and standardizationof screening assays for lead identification and the characterization of drug candidates
• Expected to work collaboratively with others across multiple disciplines

Qualifications:
The applicants should have a PhD degree in Pharmacology, Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or other related field and 3-5 years experience of applicable experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A strong background in cell and molecular biology, tissue culture, bioinformatics is a prerequisite for this position. Familiarity with basic concepts of the cell, cell-cell signaling, and molecular biology are required.

• Conduct lab-based research to support non-clinical drug discovery across a wide variety of disease indications as part of the therapeutic siRNA unit
• Expected to function independently, designing and executing mechanistic pharmacology research projects
• Expected to participate in team based in-vitro/in-vivo testing of the pharmacodynamic effects of potential drug candidates in support of novel drug discovery
• Expected to implement, optimize, and standardize screening assays for lead identification and the characterization of drug candidates
• Expected to work collaboratively with others across multiple disciplines

Qualifications:
The applicants should have a PhD or MSc degree in Pharmacology, Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or other related field and 3-5 years experience of applicable experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Expertise in performing basic scientific assays including: RNA/DNA extraction, and protein preparation, PCR & real time-PCR, western blot analysis, ELISA, flow cytometry/FACS are essential. A strong background in cell and molecular biology, tissue culture, is a prerequisite for this position.Good knowledge of English is preferred, as well as behavioral competences in communication and teamwork and organizational skills. The job will require a certain amount of occasional travelling to meet with projects partners.
